At 88 Matahimik Street, in the leafy heart of Teacher's Village, Diliman, a dream took root. AMBAI Modern Tambayan opened its doors in early 2025 with a vision as warm and welcoming as the Filipino spirit itself: to create a place where community gathers, where food tells a story, and where every visit feels like coming home.
The word tambayan is deeply Filipino — it describes the place where your people are. The corner where you linger after a long day. The table where stories are shared, laughter rings, and the best conversations unfold. AMBAI took that concept and gave it a modern, refined expression across a 500+ square-meter venue that includes a main dining hall, a casual Tambai Area, private VIP rooms, and a live performance stage.
Located near the iconic Maginhawa food strip, AMBAI was designed for Diliman's creative, intellectual, and community-driven crowd — professors, artists, families, barkada — everyone who believes that a great meal is best served with great company.
